Ferrari 812 GTS — Monaco

The 812 GTS is the last Ferrari to carry a naturally aspirated V12 in a front-engined, open-top layout. That matters. It matters because the sound alone — a flat, hard-edged wail that builds without turbo lag or electronic filtering — belongs to a generation of engines that Ferrari has moved past in newer models. Driving one through the short tunnel between Fontvieille and Monte-Carlo, roof retracted, is the kind of acoustic experience that justifies the entire trip. Our 2024 example is the only variant we hold, and it starts from €4,000 per day. That figure reflects the car's position at the top of the Ferrari GT range and the reality that very few open-top V12 Ferraris exist in any rental fleet on the Côte d'Azur. As a driving proposition, the 812 GTS suits a specific kind of route. It is long-hooded, wide and rear-wheel driven — not a car for threading through the tightest Monaco side streets at walking pace. Where it excels is on the Grande Corniche toward La Turbie, where second- and third-gear corners open into long straights with views down to Cap d'Ail and the coastline beyond. The steering loads up honestly, the gearbox responds to paddle inputs without drama, and the engine rewards every downshift with a mechanical bark that echoes off the limestone. For Grand Prix week or a yacht show arrival at Port Hercule, the 812 GTS makes a clear visual statement without resorting to aggressive aero or neon liveries. It is a big, elegant car — closer to a classic GT in its proportions — and it photographs well against Casino Square's architecture or a marina backdrop. Handover is precise. We walk through the vehicle together, cover the deposit and insurance terms, discuss fuel and return logistics, and offer route notes if you want them. Delivery to your hotel, residence or the Monaco Heliport can be arranged so the car is waiting when you arrive. If you prefer to collect in person, that works equally well. This is not a car you rent for convenience. It is a car you rent because the V12, the open roof and the Riviera coastline belong together — and this particular combination will not be available forever.
